Description
"The Shallows" by Debbie Oppermann. The wild, native and very pretty yellow Water Lily, Nuphar lutea, is found in ponds, wetlands and the shallows in rivers. The green pads or leaves appear to be floating on the surface of the water when they are actually anchored by underground stems. The Ojibwe First Nation believe that wounds can be healed by placing thinly sliced pieces of root of this lily on the wound. These beautiful, delicate lilies were found at the Moon River Ontario Canada.
