"Electric Fence Insulators" by Debbie Oppermann. I am fascinated by things that most people find uninteresting, like these round electric fence insulators. To me they are cool and different. They are old and broken but still attached to the wire fencing which is not working anymore as an electric fence, so no shocks. A gravel pit company installed this electric fence years ago on either side of a trail I like to walk occasionally near the Speed River in Guelph Ontario Canada. It was to be a safety barrier, a deterrent for people, as some of the pits that are now lovely ponds, were quite deep. It was not maintained by the company, but it took me a long time before I touched it, in fact I made my husband touch it first as he kept telling me it was not live, but he actually had to show me that it was okay to touch!
