Description
"Frosted Rose Hips" by Debbie Oppermann. It was a cold and beautiful day for a walk at the Arboretum Guelph Ontario Canada. The white layer of frost on everything was sparkling and bright. The rose hips were especially lovely with the golden background of morning light. Many gardeners prune the faded roses to encourage more blooms for the season but if you don't prune them and allow the faded blossoms to stay on the rose bush, they produce small berry sized reddish seed balls that are not only food for the birds but are also quite lovely as an ornamental for fall garden interest.
