Description
"Jet Black Desert Dweller" by Debbie Oppermann. The murderous looking jet black Raven or Corvus corax average about 24 inches in length and have a fan tailed shaped tail. They are omnivorous but prefer animal over vegetable foods. They often eat carrion but have been known to attack live lizards, snakes, insects and nesting birds and they most often travel in pairs. They are the largest passerine bird in North America and one of the most intelligent. For centuries, the Raven have had a special place in the mythology of various cultures and has been revered as a spiritual figure or god.
