"Snowy Owl In Flight" by Debbie Oppermann. This regal, daytime hunter had just left it's perch on a dead tree in the middle of a field in the rural area between Fergus and Arthur Ontario Canada. The Snowy Owl is striking in white with bars and spots and golden eyes. It is a 'sit and wait' kind of hunter and most likely left it's perch because I was getting too close. It was a thrill for me to spot this Tundra Ghost as I had never seen one before and I had been searching for them this winter. They migrate from the Arctic in the winter, so, for us in southern Ontario, it is a treat to spot them. It was well worth the climb over the fence and through the winter cornfield to get some great shots of this arctic beauty.
