One of the first signs of spring is the arrival of the Red Winged Blackbird and one of the first places to see them is on a roadside pond. This singing Red Wing was walking on the ice and singing his heart out.The males are a deep, glossy black with red and yellow epaulets and sure stand out on this frozen pond in rural Guelph Ontario Canada.
