"African Lioness" by Debbie Oppermann. This beautiful, magnificent African Lioness, Panther Leo, resting in the shade of the rocky cliff, seemed to be having fun with us as she stuck out her tongue as I was taking the photograph! Lions are classed as a vulnerable species as their numbers are dwindling quickly. These big cats are social, carnivores, nocturnal and as predators quite stealthy and their natural habitat is savannas and grassland.
