"Alert Cottontail" by Debbie Oppermann. This very cute Eastern Cottontail Rabbit, Sylvilagus floridaus, in Guelph Ontario Canada, was very photogenic, and allowed me to get very close although it's ears were up and it was alert. Big ears, brown eyes and short fluffy white tail is a combination hard to resist. The Eastern Cottontails are a provincially protected species in Ontario.
