"Basking Blanding's Turtle" by Debbie Oppermann. I was quite thrilled to spot this Blanding's Turtle, a species at risk in Ontario, at the French River, Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada. The Blanding's Turtles have a yellow chin and throat, domed carapace and yellow flecks. This beautiful reptile was enjoying the sunny day and had no intention of moving into the water as we moved closer in the boat. Just sat there on the rock and smiled!
