Description
"Eastern Screech Owl In Daytime Hideaway" by Debbie Oppermann. The Eastern Screech Owl is extremely hard to spot as they are masters of camouflage and hide in tree cavities for the most part during the day. They are only about eight and half inches tall. I watched it for awhile and it was mostly sleeping, but every once in awhile it would shift positions and open it's eyes in slits to watch what was going on in the area.

How cool is that? Wonderful capture. I'm a little mad at owls right now though, having had two great horned owls keep me up for hours last night with their hooting back and forth. :-)
