Description
"Frosty Autumn Dogwood" by Debbie Oppermann. The Red Osier Dogwood is a native to Ontario shrub with blood red stems that are quite eye catching especially in winter with the white snow. The red twigs are a very popular cut bough for winter pot displays and are also good for making baskets as the twigs bend easily without breaking. On this cold autumn morning, in Guelph Ontario Canada, the few remaining leaves were etched in frost and looked quite lovely.
