"Lake Trout Fishing" by Debbie Oppermann. Lake Trout can be considered Canada’s fish as they are mainly found in Canadian waters, including some of the northern States. Northeastern Ontario is home to stories of legendary fish roaming our pristine waters growing to enormous proportions. Lake Temagami is one of those clean, beautiful lakes that is home to the elusive Lake Trout. Because of the warm surface water in the summer, the Lakers push deeper as they like the cold water temperatures. This requires a downrigger for fishing. A manual downrigger controls the depth of the line and the bait tracks true with the boat. Did we catch a Lake Trout? Nope not on this vacation!
