"Merlin Falcon" by Debbie Oppermann. Perched on the top of the tree in northern Ontario at Bonar Lake was this really cute Falcon that was scanning the lake and surrounding area for small birds.This Merlin Falcon is small with heavily streaked plumage and looks too small to do much damage but apparently it's a fierce and energetic bird of prey. When not hunting, it likes to perch in open areas to scan for prey. Small but mighty comes to mind!
