Description
"Merlin In Flight" by Debbie Oppermann. This Merlin Falcon was calling for some time while perched in the Spruce tree in Guelph Ontario Canada. It finally decided to take off which meant the small birds could return. They are small with heavily streaked plumage and look too small to do much damage but they are fierce and energetic birds of prey. When not hunting, they like to perch in open areas to scan for prey. Small but mighty comes to mind!
