"Rock Centerpiece Rio Damajagua" by Debbie Oppermann. We hiked the Rio Damajagua in the Dominican Republic on the island of Hispaniola to get to the waterfalls, charcos, as I wanted to bring my camera and I could not do the waterfalls jumping with camera in hand. The waterfalls are in the northern corridor of the mountain range near Puerto Plata and the river flowing through the limestone carves out the landscape to create very interesting landscape. I absolutely love this rock formation found in the middle of the river. It has a very interesting design and texture. The green moss enhances and adds contrast to the swirls, dips and gullies and the surrounding vegetation is typical of a tropical paradise.
