"Roots" by Debbie Oppermann. There is one section on the Speed River Trail in Guelph Ontario Canada that is always overflowing the banks. This winter we had a record rainfall in January and again the river came rushing over the shores. In this area of shoreline the Cedar Tree roots are exposed and have become a tangled and treacherous weave to try to navigate without getting your foot caught or tripping over the rocks and entwined roots. If you take into account the ice as well as the snow it makes walking a little hazardous but it is certainly a beautiful maze of nature.
