"Someone Else" by Debbie Oppermann. While boating in the Massasauga Provincial Park, Georgian Bay Ontario, we saw a floating aluminum soda can and of course picked it out of the water. This is something we never see on our lakes and rivers and it was disgusting. If it had flown out of a boat, they should have gone back to pick it up. The environmental implications it has are astounding. How long does it take for plastic coated aluminum cans to decompose in water? It takes 200 years!
