"Sturgeon Chutes The Natural Divide V" by Debbie Oppermann. Sturgeon Chutes on the Wanapitei River, a tributary of the French River in the French River Provincial Park is an area of incredible beauty. The Chutes are a natural divide between the upper and lower French River. The pine laden rugged shores line the rocky, swift moving river with rapids, waterfalls and deep pools. The river this year was quite low so only one chute was flowing. Outstanding Canadian Shield scenery, fantastic hiking and an excellent canoe route make this wilderness area an explorers paradise.
