Description
"White Tailed Deer" by Debbie Oppermann. We went to Killbear Provincial Park Ontario Canada for the day and I was intent on taking some macro images of wildflowers, my husband and dog were off a little ways, and I had the feeling I was being observed. I looked up and to my amazement there stood this beautiful white tailed deer, right in front of me, so I just stood there and proceeded to get some great images until my husband and the dog came too close. The deer did not like this and I am assuming it was the dog that was the problem, it got very excited snorting and stomping so we backed away and it then proceeded to chase us a little ways down the path to the bay before it finally stomped off into the bush. It was quite the experience!
The White Tailed Deer, a herbivore, hold a strong social, ecological and economic importance in Ontario. They are an integral part of Ontario's biodiversity and generate millions of dollars in economic activity through hunting, viewing and tourism each year. They are the most common and widely distributed mammal in North America.
