Artist's Description
"Giant Swallowtail" by Debbie Oppermann. It was a real treat for me to finally see the Giant Swallowtail, Papilio cresphontes, the largest butterfly in Canada and the United States. It has a wingspan of 3.9 - 6.3 inches and is quite spectacular in yellow and black with yellow spots. In this image, the beautiful butterfly is posing on a lovely long stemmed purple flower, the Butterfly Bush or Buddleia in Guelph Ontario Canada.
