"Winter Storm" by Debbie Oppermann. The weather forecasters never seem to have it right as it wasn't supposed to snow until much later in the day, but halfway through our hike at the Hilton Conservation Area Ontario Canada, we were hit with a sudden wild snowstorm! It was snowing and blowing so hard it hurt when it hit exposed skin. With that being said, it was a stunningly beautiful and moody winter scene. With the snow swirling around the bare tree branches and the touch of brown on the surviving leaves, it was a magical sight! A winter wilderness hike that was worth braving the cold north blowing wind.
