Artist's Description
"Assisi Italy I" by Debbie Oppermann. Assisi Italy sits perched on a hill overlooking the countryside in Umbria. It is a picturesque, walled, medieval town with cobblestone streets, narrow alleys, wonderful architecture and also the birthplace of St Francis. We had a wonderful time exploring the streets, marveling at the stone architecture and of course visiting the Basilica of Saint Francis. In this image you can see a portion of the old stone wall and stone arch that you pass through to the countryside, of course going downhill.
