"Canada Goose On Icy Pond Early Spring" by Debbie Oppermann. The pond at the arboretum in Guelph Ontario Canada has a thin layer of ice on most of it but there are patches where the ice has melted and there are still ice chunks floating on the water surface. In this small open area there was a Canada Goose sipping water as it floated lazily amid the ice chunks. The reflections from the red stemmed Dogwood were reflecting on the water and ice and added some nice color contrast to the early spring pond. The female Goose was already starting to build the nest on a little island in the pond as well.
