"Compton Tortoiseshell Butterfly" by Debbie Oppermann. Spotting this beautiful orange and brown spotted Compton Tortoiseshell Butterfly was a first me so I was quite excited. There were about four of these butterflies on the Poplar trees in Guelph Ontario Canada in the fall. The bright yellow Goldenrod adds a lovely background to enhance the beauty of this brushfoot butterfly.
