"Cruising Osprey" by Debbie Oppermann. It's spring and the Osprey have returned to Guelph Ontario Canada. They have started to build the nest and get it ready for the babies and this one was cruising for food over the roadside ponds. The Osprey, Pandion haliaetus, is also called a sea hawk, fish eagle, river hawk and fish hawk. It is a very large powerful raptor, bird of prey, whose diet consists mainly of fish and builds the most immense nest made out of mostly branches but also rope, strips of cloth and whatever else it finds.
