Description
"Moon River At The Falls I" by Debbie Oppermann. Getting to the Moon River Waterfalls is sometimes quite tricky depending on the water level. On this day we managed to boat to this spot on the river as beyond this point was too treacherous for the boat. The water levels were quite high and the falls were wild. The rocky shoals were numerous so we parked and walked as far as we could. It is a remote wilderness waterfall that is only accessible by canoe or motorboat if the water level is high enough. The first level is a small rushing waterfall of about fifteen feet with Jack Pines on either side of a very rocky, rough terrain and the spray quite heavy. The rushing, swirling river then cascades about 10 metres over rocky ledges. The flow was so thunderous that we could hear it at our cottage about 3 kms away!
