"Scorched Pine Cones On Burnt Tree" by Debbie Oppermann. The Parry Sound Forest Fire 33, 2018, was huge and devastating. The Pickerel River outlet was the last area to be burnt before being finally declared extinguished in October. We visited the area in our motorboat and stopped to explore. This Pine tree was burnt but the Pine Cones remained on the tree and looked like they were just charred. I found it truly amazing that the Pine Cones were not more blackened.
