"XXO" by Debbie Oppermann. The blizzard had mostly subsided on this winter day and I decided to take a walk in the forest near my house in Guelph Ontario Canada. I was sure that the trees in the woods would be just stunning and I wasn't wrong. The heavily laden snow covered branches glistened in the faint light, the cold clear crisp air was invigorating and the mixed treed forest was just breathtaking in white! I noticed that the tree bark on the foremost tree had been carved with XXO, hence the title and I can certainly agree with that as I love the beauty of the winter trees.
