"Lobelia Perch" by Debbie Oppermann. I was super excited to see this juvenile male Ruby Throated Hummingbird enjoying the sweet nectar of the scarlet Cardinal Flower. This little Hummer was very aware of my presence as it posed so nicely while resting on the curved flower spike of the Cardinal flower. The bright red Lobelia is growing in my backyard pond and the colorful background is the variegated Bulrush.
