Description
"Wood Lattice Covered Bridge" by Debbie Oppermann. This Covered Bridge is one of only two in Ontario and was constructed in 1992 by a group of visiting timber framers. It is a lattice covered 120 foot pedestrian bridge over the Speed River and close to the confluence of the Eramosa and Speed Rivers in Guelph, Ontario Canada. It was modeled after an original design from the 1800's. The wood lattice is secured by square wooden nails or treenails that are quite large and prominent in the design. This inside view shows the truss or wooden rafters, arch, wooden beams and wood planks for the floor.
