"Whitewater Dalles Rapids III" by Debbie Oppermann. The Dalles Rapids on the main channel of the French River Ontario Canada is an incredible scenic vista with the rushing white water flowing fast over the rocks and boulders. The river was quite high this year and the rapids were phenomenal! As we could only go so far in our motorboat, we hiked the rugged and wild picturesque area that is typical of the French River Provincial Park. A couple weeks before we were in the area, men in a motorboat ventured a little too close to the rapids and were hauled into the turbulence. They had their life vests on, so other than being pretty beat up, they survived, but they lost the boat past the rapids and have no idea at this point how to get it back. They were very lucky that they did survive even with their life vests on.
