"The Fish" by Debbie Oppermann. The freshly caught fish on the French River Ontario Canada, was now the property of the Turkey Vulture, cathartes aura, or Buzzard, which is a scavenger that feeds on carrion and is not a pretty bird. In fact it is ugly. It is unique among vultures in that it finds carrion by smell as well as sight. This Vulture stole the fish from a Gull and will not share with the waiting Crow. It chased away the Gull but the Crow was patient until the Vulture moved further away to eat in peace.
